[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Upper Moreland Township 12-11-1973 by Ord. No. 792; amended 6-7-2004 by Ord. No. 1488 (Title 2, Ch. 6, Art. 1, of the 1977 Code). Subsequent amendments noted where applicable.]

There is hereby created an advisory planning agency for the Township of Upper Moreland to consist of seven members. All members shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary and proper expenses.
Members of the Upper Moreland Township Advisory Planning Agency shall be appointed, one from each of the Township's seven wards, and may include no more than two elected or appointed officers or employees of the Township.
Each member of the Advisory Planning Agency shall serve for a period of two years and until his successor is duly appointed, except that initial appointments by the Commissioners from Wards 1, 3, 5 and 7 shall be for a period of one year.
The Advisory Planning Agency shall, at the request of the Board of Commissioners, have the power and shall be required to:
A. 
Prepare and revise any amendments to the Comprehensive Plan of the Township and present such revisions or amendments for consideration of adoption by the Board of Commissioners.
B. 
Make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners concerning the adoption or amendment of an official map.
C. 
Make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on proposed amendments to Title 9, "Land Development and Subdivision," and Title 10, "Zoning," of the Township Code of the Upper Moreland Township.[1]

D. 
Hold public meetings and maintain and keep on file at the Township records of its meetings.
E. 
Do such other act or make such other studies or recommendations as may be requested by the Board of Commissioners or may be necessary to carry out any of the powers or duties set forth above.
