The purpose of this chapter shall be to preserve the public
peace and good order in the Village, and to contribute to the public
welfare, safety and good order of its people by establishing certain
regulations and restrictions on the use of public parks within the
Village of Wolcott.
All Village parks shall be closed to all persons from dusk until
dawn as any peace officer (Section 2.10, Criminal Procedure Law) or
police officer (Section 1.20, Criminal Procedure Law) in his or her
sole discretion may order. No prior approval of the Village or Village
Trustees is necessary for such order. Any Village park, however, may
be open after dusk with advance written permission from the Board
of Trustees or the Mayor.
No motor vehicle, snowmobile or moped shall be operated in a
Village park except on roads or trails provided therefor.
The violations of any of the provisions of this chapter shall
be punished by a maximum fine of $250 or by imprisonment for 15 days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment.
