Streets, sidewalks, rights-of-way and driveways — See Ch. 377.
No person shall move any building of any kind into the City or over its streets without having been granted a license by the City Council provided in this chapter.
Any person desiring to move buildings into the City or over its streets shall present to the City Manager a description and location of the lot on which the building is to be placed, a detailed description of the building proposed to be placed thereon, the location of the same on the lot, detailed plans and specifications prepared by a licensed architect setting out the method and type of construction, the materials used, the footage, number and size of rooms and elevation showing how the house will appear on the lot. The plan of the building shall show compliance with the Building Code and Chapter 450, Zoning, and bear an architect's certification that it does so comply. The total cost of construction, labor and materials shall be shown.
Each applicant for a license to move a building shall furnish the City with a surety bond in the amount of the total cost of the building conditioned upon his compliance with this chapter. Each applicant shall also furnish a surety bond in the sum of $10,000 to cover any damage that may be done to the streets or property of the City or any person by reason of moving the building into the City or over its streets.
Each applicant shall pay to the City Clerk-Treasurer a fee of $25 to cover the inspection of the building to be moved and for the use of the City streets.
If the City Council shall approve an application for the moving of a building, a license shall be issued which shall fix the time and conditions of moving and the streets over which the moving is authorized.
