There is hereby created the office of Municipal Prosecutor of
the Borough of Westwood.

The Municipal Prosecutor shall be an attorney at law of the
State of New Jersey and shall prosecute, on behalf of the Borough,
any case to be tried before the Municipal Court of the Borough whenever
requested by the Governing Body of the Borough, the Borough Attorney,
the Chief of Police of the Borough, and the Judge of the Borough,
and the Municipal Prosecutor shall perform such other legal duties
as may be assigned to him or her by the Governing Body and the Borough
Attorney.
The salary of the Municipal Prosecutor shall be fixed by ordinance
of the Borough Council.
The Mayor shall nominate and, with the advice and consent of
the Council, appoint a Municipal Prosecutor who shall hold said office
for a period of one year, unless sooner removed, however, in accordance
with the statutes of the State of New Jersey in such case made and
provided. He or she shall hold office for a period of one year at
the pleasure of the Council, unless sooner removed, and until his
or her successor shall have been appointed and qualified.
