A. 
Definitions. As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CROSSWALK
(1) 
That part of a roadway at an intersection included within the connections of the lateral lines of the sidewalks on opposite sides of the highway, measured from the curbs or, in the absence of curbs, from the edges of the traversable roadway; and, in the absence of a sidewalk on one side of the roadway, that part of a roadway included within the extension of the lateral lines of the existing sidewalk; and/or
(2) 
Any portion of a roadway at an intersection or elsewhere distinctly indicated for pedestrian crossing by lines or other markings on the surface.
B. 
The parking, standing or stopping of vehicles in a pedestrian crosswalk is hereby prohibited. Drivers shall use caution whenever approaching a crosswalk and be on the lookout for pedestrians who may be traversing the crosswalk.
C. 
Pedestrians shall use proper caution when traversing the crosswalk.
D. 
Municipal officials are authorized to erect signs and mark the roadway indicating the area designated as a pedestrian crosswalk.
E. 
The following streets, parts of streets or sections of roadway are hereby designated as pedestrian crosswalks:

Beginning at a point 154 feet southerly, as measured from the southeast and southwest curblines where Swede Street has its intersection with Airy Street, extending for a further distance of 20 feet southerly
A. 
It shall be unlawful to store on any highway within the Municipality any vehicle held for storage or:
(1) 
Any vehicle offered for sale or advertised as sold.
(2) 
Any vehicle awaiting repairs, or being repaired, unless such repairs are necessitated by an emergency.
(3) 
Any truck, trailer, recreational vehicle or any trailer used for recreational purposes.
B. 
Exemption. Any recreational vehicle or trailer used for recreational purposes shall be permitted to be parked for a period of time not to exceed 48 hours.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided for by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.) or except as herein specified, any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall pay a fine for the particular violation in an amount established by the Norristown Municipal Council and set forth in the Norristown Fee Schedule, which fines may be amended from time to time by resolution of Municipal Council. If the Municipality prosecutes any violations of this chapter, and a person is convicted of a violation in a summary proceeding, the person shall pay the costs of prosecution in addition to the applicable fine.
