A. 
The Village provides, by this section, that any person shall be eligible to be appointed to be an officer of the Village, provided such person is a citizen of the United States; is at least 18 years of age and is a resident of the Town of Montgomery and, provided further, that if eligibility for holding of such office is subject to regulation under the Civil Service Law, or any other law, that the person meets the requirements of such law or laws.
B. 
This section shall not apply to the position of Mayor, Trustee or member of the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Village Manager and Village Police Chief, all of which positions shall be filled by persons who are citizens of the United States, over the age of 18 years and residents of the Village of Walden.
