A.
There is established in the City a board to be known as the "Council
on Aging." Such board shall consist of 12 members, all of whom shall
be citizens of the City and none of whom shall be members of the City
Council.
B.
The director of the municipal hospital shall serve as an ex officio
member of the Council with full voting rights.
C.
Such members
shall serve without compensation.
A.
The Chairman of the Council on Aging shall be designated from time
to time by the Mayor from 12 appointed members.
B.
The 12 members shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall hold office
for a term coextensive with the Mayor.
C.
Any vacancy which shall occur in such board shall be filled in like
manner.
D.
The ex officio member shall serve as long as he is director of the
municipal hospital, but he shall not be designated Chairman of the
Council on Aging.
The Council on Aging shall act in an advisory and consultative
capacity with the general objective of coordinating within the City
departments and interested organizations the problems of the aging,
and may promote, assist and coordinate all activities designed to
meet such problems at community levels.
