A. 
Except as otherwise provided in this section, or as modified by resolution of the Board of Trustees pursuant to § 265-52 of this chapter, every person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall be guilty of a traffic infraction and shall be punished by a minimum fine of $75 and not to exceed $120 for each offense.[1]

B. 
All Village parking tickets issued pursuant to this chapter shall be answered and returned to the court within 15 calendar days.
C. 
Every person convicted of a violation of § 265-41.2A of this chapter shall be guilty of a traffic infraction and shall be punished by a fine of $250 for each offense, not including the surcharge imposed by the State of New York.
D. 
Every person convicted of a violation of § 265-39 where the registration or inspection is expired for less than 60 days shall be punishable by a fine of $50 for each offense. Where the expiration of the registration or inspection is 60 days or more, the offense shall be punishable by a fine of no more than $100 for each offense.
E. 
Upon the failure of a person or owner of a vehicle to appear or answer, on or before the return date or any subsequent adjourned date, a summons or summons charging that said person or owner permitted a vehicle to be parked, stopped or standing in violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be assessed late penalties, which shall be imposed as follows:
(1) 
If the aforementioned fine shall not be paid within 30 days from the date the summons was issued, a late penalty equal to the original fine shall be imposed in addition to the original fine.
(2) 
If the fine is not paid within 60 days from the date the summons was issued, a second late penalty equal to the original fine shall be imposed in addition to the original fine and first late penalty.
(3) 
If the fine is not paid within 90 days from the date the summons was issued, a third late penalty of an additional $20 shall be imposed in addition to the original fine, first late penalty, and second late penalty.
(4) 
If the fine is not paid within 120 days from the date the summons was issued, a fourth late penalty of an additional $30 shall be imposed in addition to the original fine, first late penalty, second late penalty, and third late penalty.
F. 
All persons, firms or corporations in violation of §§ 265-6, and 265-7A of this Chapter 265 shall be subject to a minimum fine of $200 and shall answer or appear on or before 15 days from the date of issuance and be subject to the civil penalties set forth above.

(1) 
Upon failure of a person to appear or answer on or before the return period or any subsequent adjourned date, such person shall be subject to the following surcharges, in addition to the prescribed fines:
(a) 
If the aforementioned fine shall not be paid within 15 days from the date summons was issued, a late penalty equal to 1/2 the original fine shall be added to the fine; and
(b) 
If the fine is still not paid within 60 days from the date the summons was issued, an additional late penalty in an amount equal to 1/2 the original fine shall be added to the fine, in addition to the surcharge imposed by Subsection F(1)(a) herein; and
(c) 
If the fine is still not paid within 90 days from the date the summons was issued, an additional penalty of $50 shall be added to all other fines and penalties previously assessed.
G. 
Any person, firm or corporation violating any other provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding the sum of $250 for any offense, and each day that a violation continues shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense.

The Police Committee of the Board of Trustees shall provide for the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, when and as required under the provisions of this chapter, to make effective the provisions of this chapter and may install and maintain such additional traffic control devices as it may deem necessary to regulate, warn or guide traffic under the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, subject to the provisions of §§ 1682 and 1684 of that law.

Pursuant to the Village Law and the Vehicle and Traffic Law, the Board of Trustees is hereby authorized to adopt traffic and parking regulations, including amendments of existing regulations contained in Chapter 265, by resolution (without notice or hearing), rather than by local law. Such regulations shall be adopted with reference to the appropriate section of this chapter and shall become part of this chapter.
