The following codes and any subsequent amendments are hereby adopted by reference as the 2007 Building Code of Allegany County, as if the codes were set forth in full in this section, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, shown in the Appendix, attached hereto and made a part hereof:[1]

The 2006 International Building Code.

The 2006 International Residential Code for the governance of one- and two-family dwellings and appurtenances.

Any person violating the Allegany County Building Code shall be subject to the penalties contained in the codes adopted by reference herein or shall be subject to a fine in the amount of $1 to $1,000; each day that a violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
This chapter shall not discharge, impair or release any contract, obligation, duty, liability or penalty whatever existing on the date of its enactment. All suits and actions, both civil and criminal, pending or which may hereafter be instituted for causes of action now existing or offenses already committed against any law or ordinance affected by the adoption of this chapter shall be instituted, proceeded with and prosecuted to final determination and judgment as if this chapter had not become effective.
