The term of office of elective Town Supervisor of the Town of
Chester shall be four years. Such four-year term shall commence on
the first day of January following the first biennial town election
after the effective date of this article.
At the biennial town election next following the effective date
of this article, and every four years thereafter, the Town Supervisor
shall be elected for a term of four years.
This article shall supersede in its application to the Town
of Chester § 24 of the Town Law of New York State with respect
to the term of office of the elective Town Supervisor.
This article shall be submitted for approval to the electors
of the Town of Chester at the next general town election to be held
on November 2, 2010.
This article shall take effect immediately upon filing with
the New York State Secretary of State after approval by a majority
of the electors voting thereon in accordance with the requirements
of § 23 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
