The Records Retention and Disposition Schedule LGS-1, issued pursuant to Article 57-A of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Law and containing legal minimum retention periods for municipal government records, is hereby adopted for use by all municipal officers in disposing of the municipal records listed therein.
In accordance with Article 57-A:
A. 
Only those records will be disposed of that are described in Records Retention and Disposition Schedule LGS-1 after they have met the minimum retention period prescribed therein.
B. 
Only those records will be disposed of that do not have sufficient administrative, fiscal, legal or historical value to merit retention beyond established time periods.
C. 
The Clerk/Chamberlain, as records management officer for the City of Fulton, New York, is authorized to dispose of records that no longer have a purposeful, useful or legal purpose, in accordance with the laws of the State Education Department, and the LGS-1 Schedule, as per attached.[1]

The Clerk/Chamberlain shall be the designated records access officer under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Law (§ 84 et seq. of the Public Officers Law).

Records may be requested and examined at the Clerk/Chamberlain's office, Municipal Building, 141 South First Street, Fulton, New York 13069, during regular office hours.
The fee for copies of records is $0.25 per photocopy not in excess of nine inches by 14 inches, or the actual cost of reproducing any other record, except when a different fee is otherwise prescribed by statute.
