Editor's Note: This local law provided an effective date
of 3-1-2011.
It shall be the policy of the County of Sullivan that there
shall be no smoking of any kind on any property owned or administered
by the County of Sullivan. This policy shall apply to all county facilities
and property, including but not limited to vacant property and property
administered by the County of Sullivan, such as Lake Superior State
Park, subject to the following limited exceptions:
A.Â
The only exceptions to the foregoing policy shall be:
(1)Â
Residents of the Sullivan County Adult Care Center facility may smoke
in areas specifically designated for that purpose by the Adult Care
Center's administration. This exception shall not apply to staff,
guests or other nonresidents at the facility.
(2)Â
Persons may smoke in their own vehicles either parked or driving
on County property. No one may smoke in a County vehicle at any time.
