It being deemed in the best interest of the Township of Harrison and its citizens, there is hereby created a water authority to be known as "Harrison Township Water Authority, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania".

The proper officers of Harrison Township are hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary Articles of Incorporation in order to create the said Harrison Township Water Authority, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; to cause proper notice of the intention to create said Authority to be advertised once in the Valley Daily News and once in the Pittsburgh Legal Journal and to cause the executed Articles of Incorporation and Proofs of Publication of notice to be filed with the Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to execute such other papers as may be necessary and proper.

Harrison Township Water Authority, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, shall be created for the purposes of acquiring, holding, constructing, improving, maintaining and operating, leasing, either in the capacity of lessor or lessee, of water works, water supply works and water distributing systems, both within and without the Township of Harrison, and shall have and may exercise all necessary or convenient powers for the carrying out of the aforesaid purposes as are provided by the Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended.

The term of existence of said Authority is hereby increased to the date 50 years from the date of the approval by the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the Articles of Amendments proposing such increase in the term of the existence of said Authority.
