The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town of Hamlin to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town which the public officials are authorized or required to enforce.

The following public servants of the Town of Hamlin are hereby authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets with respect to violations of a state statute, a local law, ordinance or rules or regulations of the Town of Hamlin that such public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:
A. 
The Building Inspector, Fire Marshal, Code Enforcement Officer or his/her assistant:
(1) 
The Code of the Town of Hamlin.
(2) 
State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code.[1]

B. 
The Dog Control Officer or his/her assistant:
(1) 
The Town of Hamlin Code relating to dogs.[3]

A. 
An appearance ticket issued for violation of any zoning law of the Town of Hamlin, of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code shall be served as provided in § 308 of the New York State Civil Practice Law and Rules.
B. 
An appearance ticket for an infraction relating to parking of a motor vehicle shall be served as provided in § 238(2) of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
C. 
An appearance ticket issued for any other matter other than designated in Subsections A and B hereof shall be served by personal service.
