Editor's Note: Local Law No. 2-1994 was filed with the Department of State 12-20-1994 following approval at referendum.
In accordance with the procedures provided for in the Municipal Home Rule Law, the Town Board authorizes a mandatory referendum to be held at the general election on November 8, 1994, on the proposition pursuant to § 24-a of the Town Law, enacting a local law which increases the Town Clerk's term of office from two years to four years effective with the term beginning January 1, 1996; said proposition to be voted upon shall be in substantially the following form: "Shall the term of office of the Town of Hamlin Town Clerk be changed from two years to four years?"
Pursuant to §§ 82 and 90 of the Town Law, within 10 days from the date of this article, the Town Clerk shall post and publish a notice which shall set forth the date of the adoption of this article, shall contain an abstract of such article concisely setting forth the purpose and effect thereof, shall specify that said article was adopted subject to a mandatory referendum, and shall publish said notice in the Hamlin Clarkson Herald, published in the Town of Hamlin, and in addition the Town Clerk shall post or cause to be posted on the signboard of the Town of Hamlin a copy of such notice within 10 after date of the adoption of this article.
