All applications for civil service examinations shall be submitted in writing on forms furnished by the Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service and shall be accompanied by an application fee. The amount of such fee shall be $10 for each civil service examination application filed on or before June 30, 1990.

The Suffolk County Personnel Officer is authorized and empowered to adjust the amount of such fees for applications filed for examinations announced after February 8, 2017, in order to reflect changes in administrative costs.
A. 
Pursuant to this article, effective February 8, 2017, the County Personnel Officer is hereby authorized to increase the application processing fee for all non-law enforcement civil service promotional examinations, to $40 for each application filed and to increase the application processing fee for all civil service promotional examinations for law enforcement titles to $125.
B. 
Pursuant to this article, effective February 8, 2017, the County Personnel Officer is hereby authorized to increase the application processing fee for all open-competitive examinations for non-law enforcement titles to $40 for each application filed, and to increase the application processing fee for all open-competitive examinations for Park Ranger I, Deputy Sheriff I, Correction Officer I, Probation Officer Trainee and Police Officer to $125.
All fees collected pursuant to this article shall be allocated to the general fund of the County of Suffolk and shall be utilized to offset administrative costs to the Department.
Application fees may be waived for those entitled pursuant to the provisions of Civil Service Law § 50, Subdivision 5(b).[1]

The Suffolk County Personnel Officer is hereby authorized and empowered to issue and promulgate such rules and regulations as he may deem necessary and sufficient to implement the provisions of this article.
