The purpose of this chapter is to safeguard life and property by regulating the manner of installation, alteration, removal and inspection of all electrical work in existing or proposed buildings and structures and the materials to be used therefor, and prohibiting any installation, alteration or removal or the use of any materials which do not comply with such regulations; providing for the licensing of electrical contractors and giving to the Building Inspector of the Village of Sleepy Hollow the authority and power to enforce this chapter.
