Every outdoor swimming pool must be completely surrounded by
a fence or wall not less than four feet in height, which shall be
so constructed as to have openings, holes or gaps not larger than
four inches in any dimension, and if a picket fence is erected or
maintained, the horizontal dimensions of the space between the pickets
shall not exceed four inches. Should the pool be above ground, the
wall of the pool shall be considered the required fence and shall
be deemed to comply with the provisions of this chapter, regardless
of height.
All gates or doors opening through such enclosure shall be equipped
with a self-closing and self-latching device for keeping the gate
or door securely closed at all times when not in actual use, except
that the door of any dwelling which forms a part of the enclosure
need not be so equipped. In addition, all access ladders must be detached
and removed or be elevated upon the ground so as to prohibit access
when not in use.
The location of any pool, including paved aprons, and of the
required fence shall be subject to any other ordinances and requirements
now existing in the Borough and requirements hereinafter enacted.
