No person shall sell at auction any goods, wares, merchandise or other personal or real property within the City of Yonkers without having a license therefor granted as provided in § 25-2.

The Director of the Office of Licensing of the City of Yonkers
is hereby authorized to grant licenses to such persons as shall apply
to sell at auction goods, wares, merchandise or personal or real property
within the limits of the City of Yonkers upon their giving a bond
to the City of Yonkers in the sum of $5,000 conditioned for the proper
discharge of their duties as such auctioneers, which license shall
expire on the first day of May next after the date of issuance. Such
licenses shall be issued after the Director of the Office of Licensing
has received notice of approval of the applicant therefor from the
Commissioner of Police and after payment to the Comptroller of an
annual fee of $250.
