Except as provided in N.J.S.A. 40:55D-55, the agent, architect, builder, contractor or any other person, partnership or corporation who commits, takes part in or assists in any violation of this chapter, or who maintains any building, structure or premises in which any violation of this chapter exists, for each violation and for each day such violation of this chapter continues, shall be subject to penalties as provided by Chapter 1, Article II, herein.
