Pursuant to Articles 2 through 13 of this chapter, the Village hereby adopts by reference provisions of various model codes and regulations prepared and published by nationally recognized technical trade or service associations. These model codes, together with the other provisions of this Chapter 14, shall constitute the building, plumbing, fire prevention, electrical, life safety, mechanical, property maintenance, fuel gas and energy conservation codes of the Village.
In the event any provision of any model code or any other regulation adopted pursuant to this Chapter 14 is in conflict with any federal, state or county regulation or any other ordinance or regulation of the Village, then the provision which establishes the higher standard for the promotion and protection of the safety and welfare of the public shall prevail. Further, no provision of any model code or any other regulation adopted pursuant to this Chapter 14 shall be deemed by implication to permit any use or structure in the Village which is otherwise prohibited.
One copy of each model code adopted by reference pursuant to this Chapter 14 shall be kept on file in the office of the Village Clerk for use and examination by the public.
