For the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of this Village, no person shall operate any motor boat on that part of Mirror Lake or Mill Pond within the corporate limits of Lake Placid Village without a permit by the Village Board of Trustees. The words "motor boat" when used in this article shall include every vessel propelled by mechanical means other than by electrical current. All vessels are limited to 5 mph in Mirror Lake and Mill Pond. Electric Hydrofoil Surfboards are prohibited on Mirror Lake and on Mill Pond.

Permits are required for motor boats as defined above on Mill Pond within the corporate limits of Lake Placid Village. Motor boats propelled by electric current are allowed on Mill Pond and shall not exceed 5 MPH. Electric Hydrofoil Surfboards are prohibited on Mill Pond.
Permits may be granted by the Village for the operation of motor boats for ferry purposes and for contestants on days set apart for practice and racing meets held under the auspices of a duly incorporated yacht club or racing association, or committee of the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce.

Violation of this article will subject the defendant to a fine not to exceed $250 and/or imprisonment not to exceed 15 days for each violation. Each day on which such violation continues shall constitute a separate violation.
