The body of water known as Mirror Lake located within the Town of North Elba and the Village of Lake Placid is internationally renowned for its beauty, tranquility and cleanliness as well as its great recreational uses and value. It is the recreational centerpiece of the Village of Lake Placid. These restrictions and regulations are hereby established for the purpose of protecting the public health, general welfare and safety of the inhabitants of and visitors to the Village of Lake Placid and the Town of North Elba and to afford opportunity for compatible enjoyment of the various recreational activities on and over Mirror Lake, including, but not limited to, the winter activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sled rides, skating, tobogganing, horse carriage rides, sliding and sledding.

The use of "bubblers" or other such devices whose purpose is to inhibit and/or prevent the waters of Mirror Lake from freezing or to prevent the formation of ice is hereby prohibited from November 15 to March 15.
Any person who violates the provision of this article shall be guilty of a violation punishable by a fine of not more than $100 per day.
