The Mayor may, upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police
and subject to confirmation of the City Council, appoint full- or
part-time civilian dispatchers, as needed by the City of Gardner.
All civilian dispatchers shall be subject to the authority of
the Mayor and the Chief of Police.
No civilian dispatcher shall exercise police power or authority.
Said dispatchers shall be under the direction and control of the Chief
of Police and be subject to all rules, regulations, policies, procedures,
orders or directions prescribed by the Chief of Police.
Said dispatchers shall receive such compensation as the Mayor,
with the approval of the City Council, shall from time to time determine.
