The Department shall be known as the "Nekoosa Volunteer Ambulance
Department" and shall consist of the Ambulance Chief, the Assistant
Ambulance Chief and such other members as may be authorized by the
Council.
The Public Safety Committee, together with the Ambulance Chief,
shall promulgate rules and regulations for governing the operation
of the Ambulance Department, including emergency service and prescheduled
transfers for City residents, and pursuant to contracts approved by
the Council. Such rules and regulations shall be subject to the final
approval of the Council.
All members of the Department shall satisfactorily complete
the state emergency medical technician training within one year of
their appointment. At least one Department training session shall
be held every month, and all members shall be required to attend unless
excused by the Ambulance Chief.

General supervision. The Chief shall have the general supervision
of the Department, which supervision shall be subject to and not in
conflict with this chapter and the rules and regulations of the Department.
(2)
Disciplinary action. The Ambulance Chief shall have the power to
suspend or otherwise discipline members of the Department, subject
to review by the Public Safety Committee and appeal to the Council.
(3)
Reports. The Chief shall submit to the Public Safety Committee the
Department budget not later than October 1 of each year, as well as
reports relating to the conditions of various pieces of apparatus
and appurtenances, calls occurring since the previous report, payroll
data, and the training program of the Department, together with other
pertinent information, including recommendations for such improvements
as he deems proper and necessary for the operation of the Department.
He shall also submit an annual report to the Council in a form prescribed
by the Council.

Record book. He shall keep a record book of every ambulance call,
including the person's name and address, time and date, the distance
traveled and the reason for the call.
(5)
Apparatus inventory. He shall keep an inventory of all apparatus
and equipment.
(6)
Control and care of apparatus. He shall have control of all apparatus
used by the Department and shall be responsible for its proper maintenance.
Emergency repairs may be authorized by the Chief.
Unless approved by the Ambulance Chief, no ambulance or its
equipment shall be used for any purpose, except in compliance with
this chapter.
(1)
Social club. Members of the Department may organize a social club,
provided that social activities are not funded from City funds or
any reimbursement for the ambulance service.
(2)
Fund-raising. The social club may raise funds for social activities,
provided that any advertising clearly states the purpose the funds
are being raised for.
