There is hereby established in the City of Port Republic the
Municipal Court of the City of Port Republic.
A.Â
The Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Port Republic shall
serve for a term of three years from the date of his or her appointment
and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified. Any appointment
to fill a vacancy caused other than by expiration of term shall be
made for the unexpired term only.
B.Â
The Judge shall be nominated by the Mayor with the advice and consent
of the Municipal Council.

Editor's Note: Ordinance No. 45-1985, adopted 2-12-1985,
created the position of Municipal Court Judge and set the annual compensation.
Ord. No. 46-1985, adopted 2-26-1985, established the position of Municipal
Court Clerk and set the annual salary. Both such ordinances and any
amendments thereto are on file in the office of the City Clerk.

Any person applying for representation by the Municipal Public
Defender shall pay to the Municipal Clerk, as part of their application,
an application fee of $200, which may be waived by the Municipal Court
Judge for good cause.
