A. 
No person shall at any time discharge any firearms, guns, spring guns or other instruments in which the propelling force is a spring or air, or any gun or any instrument or weapon in or upon which any loaded or blank cartridge may be used within the corporate limits of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, except a duly authorized peace officer or a member of a duly organized rifle, gun or pistol club when such member is engaged in practice or competition on a range approved by the Chief of Police or officer in charge of the Police Department; nor shall anyone string and shoot any bow and arrow or load and shoot any slingshot within the corporate limits of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, except as expressly provided and regulated.
B. 
No person shall carry any loaded pistol, rifle, shotgun or other firearm upon any public street or in any public place within the corporate limits of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, except as authorized by law, and no person shall engage in the hunting of wild animals or game within the corporate limits of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson.
No person under the age of 16 years shall use, discharge or carry loaded, within the boundaries of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, a gun commonly known as a "pellet gun," "BB gun" or "air gun," a gun from which a shot or pellet may be discharged by a spring or air.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation under the Penal Law and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
