Village of Rothschild, WI Chapter 39 Elections

[HISTORY: Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Rothschild 11-13-1967 as Secs. 3.09, 3.10 and 3.105 of the 1967 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]

§ 39-1 Election inspectors.

A. At every election held in the Village of Rothschild, the Clerk shall have the authority to determine the number of election inspectors to adequately staff each election and to reduce the number of election inspectors to an odd number of not fewer than three per reporting ward at any given election held within the Village of Rothschild. The Village Clerk shall also have discretion to utilize one additional inspector to serve at each polling place without regard to party affiliation who shall serve as a greeter to answer questions and to direct electors to the proper locations for registration and voting and who shall be available to substitute for other election officials who must leave the room during the voting process.

B. Compensation for services rendered by each election inspector shall be as provided from time to time by the Village Board.

§ 39-2 Split shifts for election officials.

The Village Clerk shall have discretion for the selection of alternate officials or the selection of two or more sets of officials to work at different times on election day and may establish different working hours for different officials assigned to the same polling place.

§ 39-3 Voting wards.

A. The Village of Rothschild shall have seven wards, located within one reporting ward, the boundaries of which shall be hereinafter set forth:

(1) Ward 1.

(a) That part of the Village of Rothschild lying within the boundaries beginning at the northwest corner of the corporate limits; thence east to the intersection of East Kort Street and Volkman Street; thence southerly to the center line of westbound STH 29; thence westerly to the center line of Bus. Hwy. 51; thence southwest until the center line of Yawkey Avenue; thence southeast until the center line of Third Street; thence southwest until the center line of Weston Avenue; thence west until the center line of Bus. Hwy. 51; thence southwest until the center line of West Military Road; thence west until the corporate limits of the Village; thence northeasterly until the point of beginning.

(b) The polling place for Ward 1 shall be the Rothschild Pavilion located at 1104 Park Street, Rothschild, Wisconsin.

(c) Population 877. Ward 1 includes all of the following census blocks:
