Unless otherwise expressly stated the following terms shall, for the purpose of this Chapter 5, have the meanings indicated in this Part 1.
BOARD OF HEALTH or WEST NORRITON BOARD OF HEALTH
Shall be construed to mean the West Norriton Township Health Officer and all of the functions imposed on the Board of Health by this Chapter 5 or any amendment thereto are hereby transferred to and imposed on the Health Officer or his Duly Appointed Representative.
DWELLINGS
Any house or building or portion thereof, used primarily as the home, residence or sleeping place of one or more human beings. Dwellings for these regulations shall be defined as follows:
1. 
MULTIPLE DWELLINGA building designed for and occupied exclusively as a residence for three or more families living independently of each other, and having no party wall in common with an adjacent building.
2. 
SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGA building designed for and occupied exclusively as a residence for but one family and having no party wall in common with an adjacent building.
3. 
SINGLE-FAMILY SEMI-DETACHED DWELLINGA building designed for and occupied exclusively as a residence for but one family and having only one party wall in common with an adjacent building.
4. 
TWO-FAMILY DETACHED DWELLINGA building designed for and occupied exclusively as a residence for two families with one family living wholly or partly over the other and having no party wall in common with an adjacent building.
5. 
TWO-FAMILY SEMI-DETACHED DWELLINGA building designed for and occupied exclusively as a residence for two families with one family living wholly or partly over the other and having only one party wall in common with an adjacent building.
HOUSE DRAIN
That part of the main horizontal drain and its branches inside the walls of the building, vault or area, and extending to and connecting with the house sewer.
HOUSE SEWER
That part of the main drain or sewer extending from a point five feet outside of the outer wall of a building, vault or area to its connection with public sewer, or private sewer.
JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER
An experienced registered plumber, who shall do work under the supervision of a "master plumber."
MASTER PLUMBER
The head of a plumbing business, partnership or firm, and shall be registered as a "master plumber" in accordance with the regulations of this Chapter 5. He shall have a bona fide place of business and display in the front thereof a sign "Registered Plumber" bearing the name or names of the person, firm or corporation, in letters not less than three inches high. He shall be the responsible party for all work entered into by him, his partnership or his firm.
PLUMBING FIXTURES
Any receptacles intended to receive and discharge any liquid or water-carried wastes into a drainage system or treatment works with which they are connected.
PRIVATE SEWER
The main sewers that are not constructed by and under the supervision of the Township or Board.
PUBLIC BUILDING
Any building in which persons congregate for civil, political, social or religious purposes, or in which persons are held or detained for reasons of public or civic duty, or for correctional purposes, such as court house, passenger station, library, museums, exhibition buildings, lecture hall, church, dance hall, bath house, armory, firehouse, police station, jail, post office, etc.
RANGE CLOSET
A series of two or more water closets, not containing an individual valve for each closet, which flush simultaneously from a single flushing tank.
REPAIRS
The mending of leaks in soil, vent or waste pipes, faucets, valves and water supply pipes and shall not be construed to admit of the replacing or installation of any fixtures, such as water closets, bathtubs, washstands, sinks, refrigerator cases, soda or bar fixtures, etc., or the respective traps for such fixtures.
SAFE OR SPECIAL WASTE PIPE
Any waste pipe receiving the discharge from any fixture or drainage appliance, with or without water supply not connected directly with the drainage system.
SOIL PIPE
Any vertical line of pipe extending through the roof, receiving the discharge of one or more waterclosets, with or without other fixtures.
VENT PIPE
Any pipe extending through the roof provided to ventilate the system of piping and to prevent trap siphonage and back pressure.
WASTE PIPE
Any pipe receiving the discharge from any fixtures except water-closet.
