Every operator of a vehicle approaching an intersection at which an official traffic control device is erected in accordance with this chapter shall obey the direction of such official traffic control device as required by the Wisconsin Statutes incorporated by reference in § 572-1 of this chapter. Operators of vehicles approaching a stop sign shall stop before entering a highway as required by § 346.46, Wis. Stats. Operators approaching intersections at which a yield sign has been installed shall yield the right-of-way to other vehicles as required by § 346.18(6), Wis. Stats.
The following streets are designated one-way streets, and no vehicles shall travel in any direction thereon except as indicated:
A. 
Northeast First Street, between Sherman Street and School Street, from south to north.
B. 
School Street from west to east.
In the interest of public safety and pursuant to § 349.07, Wis. Stats., the streets or portions thereof set forth in this section are declared to be through highways, and traffic signs or signals giving notice thereof shall be erected by the Street Superintendent in accordance with § 572-3:
A. 
North and South Main Street through the City.
B. 
Ramsdell Street from the west City limits to Main Street and from Main Street to Prospect Drive.
A. 
Special and seasonal weight limitations. The Common Council shall have the authority to impose special or seasonal weight limits to prevent damage to any street, roadway, highway, bridge or culvert within the jurisdiction of the City of Marion, or for the safety of users of such street, roadway, highway, bridge or culvert, and shall be responsible for the erection of signs giving notice thereof in accordance with § 349.16, Wis. Stats.
B. 
Heavy vehicle traffic routes designated. The Common Council ordains the following streets, roadways, or highways within its jurisdiction as a heavy truck traffic route:
(1) 
State Highway 110 (Main Street) from U.S. Highway 45 to Quarterline Road.
(2) 
Grant Street from Mavis Road to the dead end.
(3) 
Industrial Drive from Mavis Road to U.S. Highway 45.
(4) 
Mavis Road from State Highway 110 (Main Street) to the City limits.
(5) 
Prospect Avenue from County Highway S (Ramsdell Street) to U.S. Highway 45.
(6) 
U.S. Highway 45 from the City limits to the northwest and the southeast.
(7) 
County Highway G from U.S. Highway 45 to the north City limits.
(8) 
Bennett Street from State Highway 110 (South Main Street) to Southeast First Street.
(9) 
South Parkview Avenue from County Highway S (Ramsdell Street) to Bertram Street.
(10) 
Northeast Seventh Street from Sherman Street to Swamp Road.
(11) 
Swamp Road from Northeast Seventh Street to east City limits.
C. 
The Street Superintendent and/or his or her designee is authorized and directed to post appropriate signs consistent with the provisions of this section.
D. 
Restriction on use of other streets by heavy vehicle traffic. No vehicle, except a motor bus or a City of Marion owned vehicle, which is not equipped with pneumatic tires or has a combined vehicle load weight exceeding 10,0000 pounds shall be operated or moved or left standing or parked on any street, alley, roadway, or highway not part of the heavy truck traffic route designated in Subsection B of this section in the City of Marion, except for the purpose of obtaining orders for, moving, or delivering supplies or commodities to or from a place of business or residence facing thereon, provided that in no event shall the weight of the vehicle and load on such other street exceed the limitations of § 348.15 or 348.16(3), Wis. Stats., pertaining to Class "A" highways or deliveries on Class "B" highways.[1]
