A Parks Advisory Board is hereby established for the City of
Peekskill.
The Parks Advisory Board shall advise and make recommendations
to the City Manager regarding the improvement, beautification, planning,
promotion, evaluation, and recreational programming of the City's
parks and recreational facilities for items which contain adequate
funds within the approved fiscal budget. The Parks Advisory Board
shall make recommendations to the Common Council regarding park improvement,
beautification, planning, promotion, evaluation and recreational programming
which require additional funds beyond what is authorized in the approved
City budget.
The Parks Advisory Board shall consist of at least five members,
who shall be appointed by and shall serve at the pleasure of the Common
Council. A City employee shall be assigned by the City Manager to
attend meetings of the Board and to act as recording secretary.
The terms of the members of the Parks Advisory Board shall be
three years each. Of the first five members appointed to the Board,
three members shall serve for two years and two members shall serve
for three years. Thereafter, each member shall serve for a term of
three years. Vacancies shall be filled by the Common Council for the
unexpired term of the vacant seat. The Chair shall be elected by the
members of the Board.
