There shall be a Department of Health, which Department shall render such services and utilize such personnel in accordance with existing service contracts for the provision of health services in the Township and by the Burlington County Health Department. The Township Manager shall maintain an active liaison with the Burlington County Health Department concerning all health services.
There shall be a Township Physician of the Township of Willingboro, to be appointed by the Township Manager, who shall be a person duly licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners of New Jersey to practice medicine and surgery within the state and who shall perform all medical services required to be performed by or on behalf of the Township, including the Police Department thereof. The salary of the Township Physician shall be based upon a retainer as provided by ordinance and, in addition thereto, such reasonable compensation payable on the basis of the services actually performed.
There shall be a Registrar of Vital Statistics within the Department of Health, who shall be appointed by the Manager. The Registrar of Vital Statistics shall have charge of the administrative duties involved in obtaining reports of and recording births, marriages and deaths in the municipality, together with such related work as may be required in accordance with general laws and ordinances of the municipality.[1]
