Editor's Note: The full title of this ordinance provided the following list of participating municipalities: Apolacon Township, Bridgewater Township, Choconut Township, Forest Lake Township, Franklin Township, Friendsville Borough, Jessup Township, Liberty Township, Little Meadows Borough, Middletown Township and Silver Lake Township.
This article shall be known and may be cited as the "Bridgewater Township Ordinance Authorizing an Intermunicipal Cooperation Agreement for a Comprehensive Plan."
The intermunicipal cooperation agreement for a Comprehensive Plan between the participating municipalities will be approved, adopted and authorized, provided that the participating municipalities, by appropriate official action, approve, adopt and authorize the execution of the same agreement.
A. 
Purpose and conditions. The intermunicipal cooperation agreement for a Comprehensive Plan shall provide only for the cooperative preparation of the plan and method of adoption of the plan by each participating municipality and for ongoing plan monitoring and certain plan implementation actions. Plan adoption and adoption of associated ordinances shall remain the sole prerogative of each participating municipality.
B. 
Organizational structure. The Northern Tier Coalition Planning Committee, comprised of one representative and one alternate representative from each participating municipality, will be created by the intermunicipal cooperation agreement to implement the agreement.
C. 
Financing. Each participating municipality will provide funding to finance the agreement in accord with the cost-sharing formula which has been agreed to by the participating municipalities.
D. 
Term. The agreement will remain in effect until terminated by the written consent of at least 75% of all participating municipalities.
E. 
Group insurance and employee benefits. The entity created under this section shall be empowered to enter into contracts for policies of group insurance and employee benefits, including social security, for its employees.
F. 
Other measures. The Board of Supervisors may, by resolution, take such other joint measures as may be appropriate to implement the plans prepared under the terms of the intermunicipal cooperation agreement for a Comprehensive Plan.
The Board of Supervisors of Bridgewater Township may, by resolution, adopt procedures and regulations to implement the agreement approved by the participating municipalities, pursuant to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, Act of December 19, 1996, P.L. 1158, No. 177, found at 53 Pa.C.S.A. § 2301 et seq.
