[Adopted 3-19-1996 by Ord. No. 1054 (Ch. 1, Part 2B, of the
1999 Code of Ordinances)]
A. The compensation of the Mayor of the Borough of West Mifflin shall
be equal to the maximum compensation allowed to each member of Council
of the Borough of West Mifflin as authorized by Act No. 58 of 1995,
enacted October 31, 1995, which amended 53 P.S. § 46025
of the "Borough Code." Based on the current population of the Borough
of West Mifflin, the Mayor's compensation shall be $4,125 per
year. If either the population of the Borough should increase to the
extent that the amount of compensation authorized by said Act to Council
is increased, or that subsequent legislation increased the amount
of compensation allowed, then the Mayor's compensation shall
be administratively adjusted according to the formula set forth in
said Act and shall automatically be increased to the maximum amount
allowed by said Act for all Council members.
B. Should the population of the Borough of West Mifflin decrease, then
the Mayor's compensation heretofore set forth shall remain the
same, unless the Borough's population decreases below 5,000 people,
and if said population is less than 5,000 people, then the Mayor's
compensation shall be $2,500 per year.
The compensation of the Mayor shall be payable monthly from
the general fund of the Borough.
