On all poles used in common by the Western Massachusetts Electric
Company, the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company and the city,
the wires of the Western Massachusetts Electric Company shall be placed
and maintained at the highest point consistent with safety, which
point shall be at least five feet above the point at which the fixture
supporting the wires of the fire alarm and police signal systems of
the city shall be attached to such poles.

The wires of the fire alarm and police signal systems shall
be placed and maintained on a fixture attached to such poles at a
height of at least 18 inches above the lead cable or other wires of
the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. The wires of the
fire alarm system and the wires of the police signal system shall
be placed and maintained on such fixture at a distance of at least
six inches from the pole.

The provisions of sections
5-36 and
5-37 shall apply to all corporations which may hereafter transact in the city the business now transacted by the corporations above named, as well as to all corporations and persons that may hereafter transact a similar business.

All boxes of the fire alarm and police signal systems now in
service, as well as those which may hereafter be installed, shall
be grounded in an approved grounding device, which device shall be
sunk in the ground for a distance of at least six feet.
