The Coxsackie Fire Department is maintained and operated by the Village of Coxsackie. The governing body of the Coxsackie Fire Department is the Village Board of Trustees. The Coxsackie Fire Council provides for the proper management of the affairs of the Fire Department and reports to the Village Board of Trustees. The Coxsackie Fire Council represents the units of the Fire Department and shall have the power and be subject to Article 10 of New York State Village Law. The membership, duties and powers of the Coxsackie Fire Department shall be in accordance with the adopted by laws, this chapter and Article 10 of the New York State Village Law.
There shall be one Chief and two Assistant Chiefs. The term of office of the Chief and any Assistant Chief shall be one three-year term starting May 1.
