It is the desire and intention of the municipal authorities of the Borough of Northampton to organize an Authority under the General Municipal Authorities Act of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463, its amendments and supplements,[1] for the purpose of acquiring, owning and operating, or leasing, water works, water supply works and a water distribution system, and for such other projects as may from time to time be specified by the Borough of Northampton.

The name of the proposed authority is "Northampton Borough Municipal Authority."

The amended Articles of Incorporation of said Authority are as follows:
1.
The name of the Authority shall be Northampton Borough Municipal Authority.
2.
Authority and Term of Existence.
A.
The Authority is formed under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1935, the Act of June 25, 1935, P.L. 465, since repealed, but whose corporate existence and powers were continued under the "Municipality Authorities Act of 1945," the Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended and supplemented.[1]
B.
The term and existence of the Authority shall extend to April 30, in the year 2027 A.D.
3.
No authority has been organized under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945, the Act of May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, as amended and supplemented, or under the Act approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463, as amended and supplemented, or is in existence for the incorporating municipality named herein.
4.
The name of the incorporating municipality is the Borough of Northampton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
5.
The names and addresses of its municipal authorities at the time of organization are:
