A. 
No employee may engage in employment in addition to employment with the City of Warren which might in any way hinder the objectives and impartial performance of his duties with the City of Warren or interfere with or impair his efficiency as an employee of the City, as may be determined by the Manager based upon information received from the department head and performance evaluations.
B. 
Any employee who is employed by others or has employment for which his is compensated in addition to employment with the City of Warren shall submit, in writing to the Manager, information pertaining to the additional employment.
C. 
All such information received by the Manager shall be considered confidential information and filed in the confidential personnel records of the individual employee.
D. 
If any employee is injured as the result of additional employment, the employee must report the incident to the Manager. Employees so injured shall not be permitted to use sick leave for any time off due to injury resulting from additional employment.
A. 
Acceptance of any gift or service by any employee, when offered under circumstances indicating the hope or expectation of receiving a favor or better treatment than that accorded the public generally, is prohibited and shall result in immediate dismissal.
B. 
No applicant for a position in the municipal service and no municipal employee shall, either directly or indirectly, offer or give money or other valuable thing or any service to any individual who has any connection with or authority over any examination, appointment, promotion, reduction in force or removal in which that applicant or employee is concerned.
A. 
No elected or appointed official or employee of the municipality shall knowingly defeat, deceive or obstruct any individual or his right to examination, eligibility, certification or appointment under this chapter or furnish to any individual any special or secret information for the purpose of affecting the rights or prospects of any individual with respect to employment in the classified service.
B. 
No individual shall willfully make any false statement, certificate, mark, rating or report in regard to any examination, certification, promotion, reduction, removal or appointment held or made under this chapter or in any manner commit or attempt to commit any act preventing the impartial administration of this chapter or of the personnel rules and regulations adopted under this chapter.

A. 
No employee, officer or agent of the municipality shall participate in the selection or in the award or administration of a contract if a conflict of interest, real or apparent, would be involved. Such a conflict would arise when: 1) the employee, officer or agent; 2) any member of his immediate family; 3) his or her partner; or 4) an organization which employs or is about to employ any of the above, has a financial or other interest in the firm selected for award.
B. 
The municipality's officers, employees or agents shall neither solicit nor accept gratuities, favors or anything of monetary value from contractors, potential contractors or parties of subagreements; however, officers, employees or agents may accept unsolicited items of nominal intrinsic value.
C. 
Any municipal officer, employee or agent, or contractor or his agent shall be penalized for violations of this chapter, in accordance with §§ 85-43 and 85-44 of this chapter, and in accordance with the State Ethics Act.[1]
