Placement of bulk storage containers, temporary storage containers,
"pods," or similar containers shall follow the requirements listed
below.
A. No bulk storage container, temporary storage container, "pod," or
similar container shall be placed or maintained by any private party
in or on any Village property, street or right-of-way.
B. No bulk storage container, temporary storage container, "pod," or
similar container shall be placed or maintained on any private property
unless it complies with one or more of the following provisions:
(1) Such containers may be placed or maintained on a driveway or other
suitably paved areas for the purposes of packing or unpacking goods
and materials of the owner or occupant of the property in preparation
for and/or subsequent to moving into or out of the property for not
more than 30 consecutive days with a maximum of one container per
property.
(2) Such containers may be placed or maintained on a driveway or other
suitably paved area for purposes of storing the goods and materials
of the owner or occupant of the property when necessary during renovation
or rehabilitation of the structures located on the premises in which
the goods or materials would otherwise be located during the period
of renovation or rehabilitation and up to 10 days prior to commencement
and 10 days subsequent to completion of the work. This time period
may be extended by the Village Building Inspector for an additional
period not to exceed 30 days.
Prior to the placement of any bulk storage container, temporary
storage container, "pod," or similar container on any private property
within the Village, the user of such containers shall apply for and
receive a permit from the Village Building Inspector pursuant to the
provisions and standards set forth herein.
A. Application. The permit application shall require, among other things,
the name and contact information for both the owner of the container
and the owner of the property with which the use of the container
is associated.
B. Fee. The application shall be accomplished by a permit fee as listed
within the fee schedule for the placement, as outlined herein, of
a bulk storage container, temporary storage container, "pod," or similar
container.
C. No permit issued shall be transferable or assignable to any person,
business, organization, or other party not originally designated on
the original application.
The owner of the property associated with the container use
shall be responsible for compliance with the provisions of this chapter.
