Whoever, without reasonable cause, by outcry or otherwise, makes any false alarm of fire, shall be penalized under § 179-1.
Any person who has an automatic fire alarm which calls for a direct response from the Fire Company shall be charged a fee to be set by the Village Board for three or more false alarms in a calendar year. When the Fire Chief determines that the cause of the false alarm was beyond the control of the permit holder, that false alarm may be exempted from this fee requirement. If such person can show cause why a false alarm was not the result of negligence, improper installation or maintenance, the Fire Chief may waive the fee.
A. 
Duty to maintain. The property owner shall be responsible for maintaining the alarm system in proper working order.
B. 
Duty to respond to alarm. The property owner or his or her designee shall be responsible for responding and providing access to the building for firefighters in case of fire and for resetting the alarms.
C. 
Collection of special charges. Special charges for false alarms shall be billed to the property owner and, if not timely paid, shall be placed on the tax roll pursuant to the provisions of § 66.0627, Wis. Stats.
