This article shall be known as the "Munhall Sewage Charge Ordinance."
[Adopted 12-29-1997 by Ord. No. 1419; amended in its entirety 12-30-2003 by Ord. No. 1489]
There is hereby imposed and reimposed a charge for sewage to Munhall users in the amount of $2.50 per 1,000 gallons of water or part thereof consumed. The collector of sewage accounts is authorized and directed to calculate and collect such charge on behalf of the Borough and to promptly remit the same.
It is found that anticipated income from this charge is a reasonable approximation of the anticipated expenses of the Borough of Munhall in regard to the operation, maintenance, repair and upgrading of the sanitary sewage system.
The Borough hereby confirms and reestablishes its right to terminate water service to any resident, business or entity who has failed to timely pay sewage charges. The shutoff procedure will be followed pursuant to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any fees, charges or expenses incurred in connection with such termination shall be paid by the user and/or property owner.
This charge shall be automatically reimposed in future years as part of the Annual Budget Ordinance by the inclusion of such identified taxable income in that document.
