From and after the passage of this article, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation owning or having a present interest in any real estate within the Township of North Versailles, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, to permit ragweed, sumac, and similar vegetation, not edible or planted for some useful or ornamental purpose, to grow on the premises owned by them within the Township of North Versailles, and all such vegetation is hereby declared to be a nuisance and detrimental to the health, safety and comfort of the inhabitants of the Township of North Versailles.
All ragweed, sumac, and similar vegetation that is noxious in character, permitted to grow or remain contrary to the provisions of this article, shall be cut and removed by or under the direction of the Township Health Officer, or the Chairman of the Board of Health, as the case may be, or any other person or persons designated by the Board of Commissioners, and the cost thereof, together with the penalties provided by law, shall be collected by lien or by action in assumpsit, or any such other manner as may be provided by law.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and/or to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days.
