There shall be established in the city of Northampton a board
of health consisting of 5 members, each of whom shall serve a term
of 3 years and be appointed by the mayor, subject to the approval
of the city council. The members of the board of health shall be legal
voters in the city and at least 1 of whom shall be a physician. The
members of the board shall serve without compensation.
