Village of Washingtonville, NY Article III Parking, Standing and Stopping

§ 162-14 Applicability; exceptions.

The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.

§ 162-15 Overnight parking; parking during snowfall.

No vehicle shall be parked on any public highway, except a state highway, within the corporate limits of the Village of Washingtonville:

A. Between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. from November 1 of each year to the following April 1; and

B. At any other time if snowfall has accumulated to a depth of two or more inches.

§ 162-16 Parking prohibited at all times.

No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XI (§ 162-40), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

§ 162-17 No stopping or standing.

No person shall stop or stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XII (§ 162-41), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

§ 162-18 Parking prohibited certain hours.

No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XII (§ 162-42) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XIII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.

§ 162-19 No stopping or standing certain hours.

No person shall stop or stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XIV (§ 162-43) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XIV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.

§ 162-20 Time limit parking.

No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XV (§ 162-44) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule XV of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.

§ 162-21 Angle parking.

No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XVI (§ 162-45) except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.

§ 162-22 Loading zones.

The locations described in Schedule XVII (§ 162-46), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.

§ 162-23 Taxi stands.

The locations described in Schedule XVIII (§ 162-47), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.

§ 162-24 Bus stops.

The locations described in Schedule XIX (§ 162-48), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as bus stops.

§ 162-25 Municipal parking lots.

The locations described in Schedule XX (§ 162-49) are hereby designated as municipal parking lots, and parking shall be limited to the hours specified in said schedule.
