A.
There is hereby created a Landmarks Preservation Commission which shall consist of seven members, of which six shall be appointed by the Town Board and one shall be the Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development or his designee.

C.
Six members are to be appointed for terms of three years, provided that of those members first taking office, two shall be appointed for one year, two for two years and two for three years. Members may serve more than one term, and each member shall serve until the appointment of a successor. The Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development or his designee shall be permanent.

D.
In the event of a vacancy occurring during the term of a member of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the Town Board shall make an appointment to complete the unexpired term of such member, and where such member is required to have specified qualifications, such vacancy shall be filled by appointment in the manner herein prescribed with a person having the same qualifications.
E.
The six members of the Commission shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of their duties in consequence of Town Board appropriation for such purposes.
