Each water consumer shall make a cash deposit with the Town of Tatum (residential and commercial) in an amount set from time to time by the governing body to guarantee payment of water, sewer and garbage bills. In the event of discontinuance of service, the deposit will be refunded to the consumer, after deduction of any bill due the Town for water, sewer and garbage service or any other bill. In the event the deposit is insufficient to pay any bill due to the Town, the Town have a lien upon the land thereof.

All deposits will be refunded within 30 days after service is discontinued. Deposits are not transferable, and no additional names will be added to the account. Deposits are transferable only to the original depositor.
