There is created a Park Board consisting of a Trustee of the Village to be chosen by the President and Trustees, and five residents of the Village. In addition to residents, an individual who owns a business within the Village that is registered with the Village shall also be eligible to serve on the Park Board.

The Park Board shall be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Village Board. The terms of appointment of the public members shall be five years or until their successors are appointed and have qualified, except that the members of the Board first appointed shall be appointed for such terms that the term of one member shall expire annually thereafter. If a vacancy occurs on the Board, the President shall appoint a successor to serve for the unexpired term. Persons appointed to the Park Board shall not be considered officers of the Village and shall not be required to take an oath of office.
The members of the Park Board shall have such qualifications as are now or hereafter may be required by law. The members of the Park Board may be removed from office in the same manner as other officers of the Village.
The Park Board shall have such powers and duties as are now or may hereafter be given to it by law.
The members of the Board shall serve without compensation.
