[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Corinth 1-8-1975 (Ch. 29 of the 1983 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
There shall be a Planning Board for the Village of Corinth, Saratoga County, New York, to be known as the "Village of Corinth Planning Board," consisting of five members appointed by the Mayor for terms of five years, except that the terms of the initial members shall be as follows:
A. 
One for a term to expire at the end of the official year which commences at the end of the current official year.
B. 
One for a term to expire at the end of the second official year following the current official year.
C. 
One for a term to expire at the end of the third official year following the current official year.
D. 
One for a term to expire at the end of the fourth official year following the current official year.
E. 
One for a term to expire at the end of the fifth official year following the current official year.
The Mayor shall appoint one of such members to act as Chairperson of said Planning Board.
Pursuant to Article 7 of the Village Law, said Planning Board is hereby empowered and authorized to approve plats showing lots, blocks or sites with or without streets or highways and to conditionally approve preliminary plats.
Said Planning Board is authorized and empowered to approve the development of plats already filed in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer of said county if such plats are entirely or partially undeveloped.
Pursuant to § 7-738 of the Village Law, said Planning Board is hereby authorized, simultaneously with the approval of any plat, to modify applicable provisions of any zoning law heretofore or hereafter adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Corinth, New York, subject to conditions set forth in said § 7-738.[2][3]

The Mayor may, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees, designate an alternate member to substitute for a member when such member is unable to participate on an application or matter before the Planning Board, whether such inability is due to conflict of interest, nonattendance, or any other reason. Such alternate member shall have all the powers and responsibilities of a Board member. The term of such an alternate member shall be for one year expiring on May 31 of each year.
