Each building (other than accessory buildings as defined in Chapter 385, Zoning, of this Code) in the Village shall be assigned a street number by the Building Inspector. The building owner shall, within 20 days after completion or occupancy of the building, whichever occurs first, securely attach or apply to the building with a setback of less than 50 feet, in a conspicuous position, and not higher than the first or ground story of said building, so that the same is clearly visible from the street, its proper number as contained in the records of the Building Inspector, in numerals not less than three inches in height; and said owner shall at all times keep such numbers so attached or applied. For buildings with a fifty-foot or more setback, the number must be posted at the roadway and must be visible from both directions of traffic within 15 feet of the driveway. Certain multifamily residential or multibusiness buildings may have more than one assigned street number. In such cases, the proper numbers shall be displayed at the entrance to each individual dwelling or business unit or, if each unit does not have a separate entrance, as required by the Building Inspector.
