Pursuant to C.G.S. § 9-185, effective upon the expiration of the term of the incumbent Town Clerk or upon earlier vacancy in that office, the office of Town Clerk shall become an appointive office, such appointment to be made by the Board of Selectmen. The terms of all appointed personnel shall be fixed terms of two years or less to coincide with the term of office of the Board of Selectmen.

Effective July 1, 1979, as provided in C.G.S. § 7-34b, the Town Clerk will receive a salary which will be fixed by the legislative body at the annual budget meeting.

All fees or compensations provided by the Connecticut General Statutes to be paid to the Town Clerk shall be collected by such Town Clerk, and all such monies shall be deposited into a Town account designated by the Town Treasurer.
